“We have been able to bring changes in the system. It is about giving financial empowerment to the families of sisters and brothers. Further, villages have improved today like never before and schools have changed with the introduction of digital classrooms. From giving tabs to children to bringing English medium to all schools with bilingual textbooks with one page in English and another page in Telugu, we have been radically changing the school system for good,” said the Chief Minister.

Differently-abled couple thank YS Jagan for changing their lives

In a display of love and affection, Prasad (33) and his wife Aparna (30), hailing from Metapalli village, presented a portrait of Chief Minister YS Jagan to him.

Prasad and Aparna are both differently-abled. Both of them completed TTC and B.Ed in 2015 and after being married, were hoping for a smooth life. But since they did not get a government job, they started working as daily labourers at a sculptor’s shop.

But since 2019, their life changed when they started receiving pensions for disabled which was increased by the YSRCP Government from Rs 1,500 to Rs 3,000 which ensured that the couple started getting a financial assistance of Rs 6,000 per month. This amount was enough to sustain themselves which indirectly help them to prepare for government jobs. Both of them recently qualified TET and are now preparing for DSC. The couple met the Chief Minister at the Gram Sabha in Yerraguntla on Thursday and presented a token of love to him.
