HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad City Police have registered a new case against BJP MLA Raja Singh for allegedly violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) during the Sri Rama Navami procession on April 17.

According to a complaint filed by Sub-Inspector G. Madhusudan from the Sultan Bazar Police Station, Raja Singh, Shailender, and other organisers led a rally to Hanuman Vyamshala in Koti. During the rally, they held a public meeting that went against the rules of the Lok Sabha election's MCC. The complaint stated that the event, scheduled to end by 10:00 PM, continued well past that time. At around 11:15 PM, Raja Singh and his group reportedly caused a disturbance by playing loud music and giving speeches after the permitted hours.

Based on this complaint, the Sultan Bazar Police Station registered a case against Raja Singh under Sections 188 and 290 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), read with Section 34 and Section 21/76 of the City Police Act.
