HYDERABAD: According to the National Family Health Survey (NFHS) the state has the highest number of working women in the country said Telangana Minister for Information and Technology, KT Rama Rao. The Minister further said that two out of the three companies that had developed the Covid-19 vaccine in India are from Hyderabad, having women leaders taking the charge.

Addressing women at the 'Medical Conclave event' at AIG Hospitals on Saturday, the Minister appreciated and acknowledged the role of women in the rapidly growing medical field. "Hyderabad is where biology meets technology, data sciences meets life sciences and mangroves meets the metaverse," added KTR.

The pilot project that was undertaken by the Telangana government in Rajanna Sircilla and Mulugu districts aims to bring medicine and technology together for over 40 million citizens in Telangana. "During the implementation of the project, it was observed that there is a high prevalence of oncological diseases and cardiovascular challenges in women," added KTR.

"The state government is all set to build a medical college with a dedicated oncology unit at Rajanna Sircilla. It will invite over 42,000 admissions every year," said KTR. With the growing number of women enrolling in degree programs in the state every year is an encouragement for the state and women, said KTR.
