ACB traps Tribal Welfare engineer for Rs 84,000 bribe; Rs.65 lakh, 4 kg gold too seized, says CV Anand

HYDERABAD: K. Jaga Jyothi, Executive Engineer i/c SE, Tribal Welfare Engineering Department, Tribal Bhavan, in Hyderabad was trapped red handed at her office, by the ACB officials, when she demanded and accepted the bribe amount of Rs.84,000 (Rupees Eighty Four Thousand only) from the complainant Bodukam Ganganna, Licensed Contractor of Namdev Wada, Nizamabad , to perform an official duty for the already sanctioned bill pertaining to Nizamabad work and to fix Revised Milestone (Schedule) for completion of work pertaining to Gajula Ramaram site for the construction of the Juvenile Boys Hostel building and to submit bills for this work taken up by the complainant.

Meanwhile, in a late night announcement, ACB Director-General CV Anand said: “Another 65 lakhs cash and 4 kgs of Gold was recovered at her residence in further searches.”

This is a whopping sum to have been recovered from an engineer in the recent past.

The biggest catch in the recent past was that of former HMDA Director Siva Balakrishna.

The bribe amount of Rs.84,000 (Rupees Eighty Four Thousand only) was recovered from her possession.

The Right hand fingers of K. Jaga Jyothi, EE, tested positive in phenolphthalein test. The accused officer performed his duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage.

On being caught, the officer wept.

Therefore, the accused Executive Engineer i/c SE, Tribal Welfare Engineering Department, Tribal Bhavan, will be arrested and produced before the Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases Court at Hyderabad.

The case is under investigation.
