HYDERABAD: PepsiCo, American multinational food company, is planning to expand its operations in a big way in Hyderabad, Telangana. Within the next one and a half years, the company is looking to increase the workforce of its Global Business Services Center in Hyderabad to 4,000 employees from its current strength of 2,800.
Roberto Azevedo, Executive Vice-President, Corporate Affairs of PepsiCo, on Tuesday met Telangana IT Minister K T Rama Rao at the Telangana Pavilion on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) and discussed various expansion plans of the company in Telangana.
The Minister promised that the state government would extend all possible cooperation for PepsiCo’s future investments in Telangana. He also expressed his happiness over the rapid growth of the company’s Global Business Service center in Hyderabad.
The Global Business Services Center of PepsiCo, which started with just 250 people in 2019, has become 2,800 strong now and plans to grow up to 4,000 employees within the next one and half years.
PepsiCo, in partnership with the Telangana government, aims to participate in sustainability initiatives including improving water efficiency, recycling and reuse of plastics. During the meeting, the manufacturing opportunities for popular PepsiCo food products in Telangana were also discussed.
