HYDERABAD: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) supremo K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) has almost zeroed in on the name if Bharat Rashtriya Samithi (BRS) for his proposed national party. In fact, KCR has been toying with the idea of launching a national party for quite some time. He held hectic parleys and a series of confabulations with several leaders of regional and national parties in the last few years.

KCR organised a meeting of senior leaders and ministers of the TRS at Pragati Bhavan on Friday. He has upped the ante against the BJP by deciding to launcha national political party.

Names like 'Bharat Rashtriya Samithi', 'Nava Bharat' and 'Jai Bharat' were reportedly being considered. A final decision will be taken on June 19. This offers the country a new political platform for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. It is likely to cast its influence even on the upcoming Presidential elections.

KCR put forth the plan of launching a new party as he strongly believes that the BJP and the Congress have failed the country. He trusts that the rise of a new political party is necessary to fill this vacuum in the present political scenario.

KCR has been veering towards launching a national political party for the past few years and has gradually made strong associations with other non-BJP and non-Congress parties across the country. He met political leaders with strong regional base like JMM's Hemant Soren (Chief Minister of Jharkhand), Shiv Sena's Uddhav Thackeray (Chief Minister of Maharashtra), NCP President Sharad Pawar (former Chief Minister of Maharashtra), Trinamool Congress party's Mamata Banerjee (Chief Minister of West Bengal), etc. to form an alliance against the two national political parties and make a strong pitch for the national presence.

Now KCR, with his ideology of making India a n economic power house marshalling its natural resources and rising above the parochial religious tendencies, will emerge as a challenger to the BJP. The Congress is still trying to find its lost ropes.

Will the upcoming party, with the help of allies, defeat the long and monotonous rule of the BJP and the Congress is a moot question. KCR and other leaders who were present in the meeting believe that the launch of a new party will definitely give the country a new political agenda and discourse.
