Manikrao Thakre counters Venkat Reddy claims, rules out Congress alliance with BRS
Congress party incharge of Telangana Manikrao Thacke said that there would be no alliance with the BRS after elections in Telangana
HYDERABAD: Even as Komatireddy Venkat Reddy’s claims on post-poll alliances kicked up a huge storm within the Congress party, Manikrao Thakre, its incharge of Telangana affairs, began a desperate fire-fighting operation on Friday. Countering the claims of his party’s Bhongir MP, Thacke said that there would be no alliance with the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) after elections in the state.
Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, a rebel within the Telangana Congress ranks, has recently dropped a bombshell when he predicted that a hung Assembly would emerge in the state after the elections. He claimed that no party would be able to win 60 seats to form the government on its own. He further said that as two secular parties, the BRS led by K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) would have no option but to forge an alliance with the Congress to form the government.
