HYDERABAD: Several TRS leaders on Tuesday condemned the attack on MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha's residence in Hyderabad by BJP activists. At a press meet held here, they also lambasted the BJP for its allegations on the Delhi Liquor policy scam. The TRS leaders met MLC Kavitha here to express their solidarity with her.
Later, they addressed a press meet and took the BJP to task. Telangana Minister Satyavati Rathode expressed anger over the BJP leaders' attack on the MLC. She warned of severe action against the saffron leaders for making baseless allegations. She said that the BJP was facing anti-incumbency across the country and hence resorting to harassment of powerful leaders like KCR. Satyavati also alleged that the BJP was trying to harass Kavitha with illegal cases as it was envious of the development taking place in the state under the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
PUC chairman Jeevan Reddy, TSRTC chairman Bajireddy Govardhan Reddy and Government Whip Balka Suman also addressed the press meet and slammed the BJP. Armoor MLA Jeevan Reddy condemned the siege of MLC Kavitha's house by BJP workers and wondered if the BJP would survive if the TRS men gave the saffron party the taste of its own medicine. He also warned that if the BJP did not rectify its unethical acts, they would also be constrained to attack the houses of Kishan Reddy, Bandi Sanjay and Aravind in future.
Meanwhile, RTC Chairman Bajireddy Govardhan also criticized the central government for making a mockery of democracy. He said that harassing the opponents was equal to demolishing democratically elected governments. Balka Suman who was also part of the press meeting added that the TRS party was not afraid of false cases.
