Elon Musk announces audio, video calling on X

HYDERABAD: Elon Musk, CEO of X, announced the upcoming addition of audio and video conversations to the micro-blogging platform, which will be compatible with Android, iOS, PC, and Mac, on Thursday.

The new features would allow calls without a phone number, effectively turning X into a global address book. Reports suggest that X Blue subscribers are likely to receive the upcoming features, similar to other exclusive features previously offered to paid subscribers.

Elon Musk took to X and tweeted, " Video and audio calls are coming to X. Works on iOS, Android, Mac, and PC. No phone number is needed. X is an effective global address book. That set of factors is unique."

Earlier in May this year, Elon Musk announced that 'X' would soon offer voice and video chat from your handle, allowing users to communicate globally without their phone number. Musk plans to transform 'X' into an everything app for users.
