Subhash Reddy had strongly aspired for the MLA ticket from the Yellareddy Assembly constituency, but the AICC announced the ticket to K Madanmohan Rao. Irked by this decision, Subhash Reddy conducted a meeting with his followers and wept inconsolably. He later quit the Congress and joined the BJP, which nominated him to the Yellareddy seat. The irony was that both Revanth Reddy and Subhash Reddy resigned from the TDP and joined the Congress at the same time.
