Former Hyderabad Mayor Teegala Krishna Reddy set to rejoin TDP

HYDERABAD: Former Hyderabad Mayor Teegala Krishna Reddy is set to rejoin the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). He recently met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu in Hyderabad, indicating his intentions to return to his political roots.

Speaking to the media after his meeting with Naidu, Teegala Krishna Reddy expressed his happiness about rejoining the TDP. He mentioned that Chandrababu Naidu becoming Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh post the formation of Telangana brought him immense satisfaction. Reddy stated that he wishes for the return of leadership reminiscent of NT Rama Rao’s era, emphasising Naidu's contributions to the development of Hyderabad, including establishing Cyberabad. He added, "It was Chandrababu who helped develop Hyderabad, and it was under his leadership that I became Mayor."

Krishna Reddy also mentioned his plans to restore the past glory of TDP in Telangana. He claimed there are still many TDP supporters in the state, and expressed his intention to bring them all under one umbrella. He noted that Naidu promised to meet him again soon to discuss further steps.

Former minister and MLA Mallareddy, along with his son-in-law Marri Rajasekhar Reddy, also accompanied Teegala Krishna Reddy during the meeting. However, Mallareddy clarified that he was there primarily to invite Chandrababu Naidu to his grandson's wedding, downplaying the political implications of his presence.
