HYDERABAD: Former Minister T Harish Rao launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accusing him of misleading the Assembly with false and misleading statements.

Speaking to reporters at the Assembly premises, Harish Rao alleged that Revanth Reddy resorts to diversions whenever the ruling party is on the defensive. He cited several instances of the Chief Minister's alleged misconduct, including claims about the Kaleshwaram project and electricity meters. Harish Rao stated that Revanth Reddy falsely claimed that retired engineers had deemed the Kaleshwaram project at Medigadda unfeasible, while in reality, their concerns were different. He also accused the Chief Minister of misrepresenting facts about electricity meters by selectively reading from a document and omitting crucial information.

He further criticised Revanth Reddy's claims about the Telangana movement, stating that the Chief Minister was not actively involved and even threatened pro-Telangana activists. He questioned Revanth Reddy's silence on issues like the Land Regularisation Scheme (LRS) and farm loan waivers, highlighting the Congress party's contradictory stance.

He questioned Revanth Reddy's claims of being a bigger proponent of Telangana than Jaipal Reddy, pointing out that it was KCR who successfully rallied 36 parties for the cause. He urged the media to expose Revanth Reddy's alleged lies, particularly regarding the loan waiver scheme, where the allocated budget falls short of the promised amount.
