HYDERABAD: Former minister and MLA T Harish Rao accused Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of showing fake affection towards Andhra residents living in Telangana.

Addressing a press conference at his residence in Kokapet on Friday, Harish Rao alleged that Revanth Reddy had once bowed to Andhra leaders during the Telangana movement and had not participated in the struggle for a separate state. He emphasised that Telangana was achieved through the efforts of leaders like himself, while Revanth remained distant from the cause.

Harish Rao also pointed out that Revanth had previously made derogatory remarks, calling spiritual leader Chinna Jeeyar Swamy and temple architect Anand Sai "Andhraites." In contrast, former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had consistently stated that everyone living in Hyderabad, regardless of origin, was a part of Telangana. He claimed that KCR had united all communities in the state for its future.

Speaking on the PAC Chairman appointment issue, Harish Rao accused Revanth of spreading misinformation. He stated that Revanth's claim of an election for the PAC Chairman post was baseless and misleading. According to Harish Rao, the process was a selection, not an election, and Revanth's statements were akin to "ghosts reciting scriptures."

He further criticised Revanth's tendency to make baseless statements during casual conversations, particularly his previous claim about handing over Old City to Adani during a chat in Delhi, which was later denied in the Assembly.
