HYDERABAD: MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi has launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's government, alleging a complete breakdown of law and order in Hyderabad.

Speaking during a discussion on budget allocations in the Assembly, Akbaruddin Owaisi claimed that crime rates in the state capital are spiralling out of control.

Akbaruddin Owaisi pointed to three recent murders in Hyderabad as evidence of the deteriorating law and order situation, contradicting the government's claims of maintaining peace. He criticised the police for focusing on lathi-charging civilians instead of apprehending criminals. He further alleged that police officers were often found sleeping during the day after working night shifts, leaving the city vulnerable to daytime crime.

The MIM leader accused the police of harassing citizens, citing instances of IT professionals and patients being subjected to police brutality. He highlighted the lack of friendly policing in Hyderabad and criticised the police force for failing to curb the flow of drugs like marijuana.

Akbaruddin Owaisi alleged that bribes were rampant within the police department, even claiming that an ACP had approached him for a donation to construct a police station. He urged the government to address the issue of corruption within the police force. He demanded strict action against criminals, particularly those involved in drug-related crimes and sexual assault against minors, questioning the very existence of law and order in Hyderabad under the Revanth Reddy government.
