KTR alleges huge scam by Telangana CM's family in AMRUT tenders

HYDERABAD: BRS Working President K Taraka Rama Rao has alleged large-scale corruption in awarding contracts under the AMRUT scheme in Telangana.

In a tweet, KTR informed that he wrote a letter to Union Ministers Manohar Lal Khattar and Tokhan Sahu seeking a probe into the scam involving the family members of Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. He claimed that Revanth Reddy's brother-in-law, Srujan Reddy, had received contracts worth thousands of crores despite his company lacking the necessary qualifications.

KTR demanded a thorough inquiry into these alleged irregularities, calling for the details of the companies that secured these tenders to be made public. He accused the state government of withholding crucial information on contracts awarded over recent months. He urged the Union Government to review all tenders issued after the Congress government came into power.

He also shared a document from the Indian Hume Pipe Co. Ltd., dated 13th March 2024, which confirms that the Telangana government awarded a work order to a Joint Venture (JV) consisting of AMR India Limited, Shoda Constructions Private Limited, and Indian Hume Pipe under AMRUT 2.0. The contract, valued at Rs 1137.77 crores (excluding GST), was for water supply and sewerage projects under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme. Indian Hume Pipe’s share in the project amounts to Rs 227.55 crores.

KTR demanded the cancellation of tenders found to involve irregularities and insisted that all relevant details be made available in the public domain.
