HYDERABAD: BRS working president K Taraka Rama Rao launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accusing him of failing to fulfil his election promises and attempting to erase former CM K Chandrashekar Rao's enduring legacy in Telangana.

Addressing a gathering of BRS party workers from Serilingampally constituency at Telangana Bhavan on Tuesday, KTR dismissed Revanth Reddy’s remarks, where he claimed he would remove KCR’s influence from the state.

KTR stated that erasing KCR’s legacy was impossible, citing numerous monumental projects that would forever be associated with him. “You cannot go anywhere in Telangana without being reminded of KCR,” he said, referring to developments like the new Secretariat, the 125-foot statue of Ambedkar, the Command Control Centre, the Durgam Cheruvu Cable Bridge, and 36 flyovers constructed during KCR's tenure as Chief Minister. "Even if you pass by these landmarks, KCR's name will come to mind," he added.

He further ridiculed Revanth Reddy, whom he referred to as "Chitti Naidu," for his attempts to downplay KCR's contributions. He remarked that while Revanth is determined to erase KCR’s legacy, it is impossible as long as Telangana exists. "The only way people will forget KCR is if Telangana ceases to exist, and that’s not happening," KTR stated emphatically.

Addressing the issue of unfulfilled promises, KTR accused Revanth Reddy of betraying farmers and neglecting governance. "Revanth promised Rs 15,000 under Rythu Bharosa, but today, even the Rs 10,000 given under Rythu Bandhu seems uncertain. Farmers are questioning his commitment. He cares more for the CM’s chair than for farmers," KTR charged. He also highlighted that Revanth’s election promises, including loan waivers, remain unfulfilled, leaving farmers in distress.

KTR further reminded the audience of Revanth’s pledge to give one "tola" of gold to newlywed daughters under the "Kalyana Lakshmi" scheme. "In the last 10 months, more than five lakh weddings have taken place, and yet, not a single gram of gold has been distributed. If Revanth truly cares for the people, let him fulfil these promises immediately," KTR challenged.

Turning his attention to Revanth’s governance, KTR alleged that the CM and his family were involved in land scams and corruption across the state. He claimed that Revanth’s brothers were indulging in illegal land settlements and extorting money under the guise of real estate deals. "The Chief Minister's family is looting Telangana. Whether it’s land settlements, real estate scams, or extortion in the name of 'HyDRA,' the entire state is witnessing the CM’s corruption," KTR alleged. He further claimed that Revanth had no control over his government and was living in fear of political opponents in Khammam and Nalgonda districts.

KTR also mocked Revanth’s frequent trips to Delhi to meet with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, stating, "In the last nine months, Revanth has visited Delhi 22 times. Is this what he considers an achievement? He promised new schemes, but not a single one has been implemented."

KTR urged BRS workers to gear up for the upcoming by-election in Serilingampally. He assured the gathering that BRS would emerge victorious, saying, “The people of Telangana recognise who truly works for them. We will not only win Serilingampally but also ensure that ten of our party workers become corporators.” He reassured the party workers that the BRS would continue its fight for the development of Telangana and for the promises made to its people.
