HYDERABAD: BRS Working President K Taraka Rama Rao strongly criticised the Congress government, led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, for what he termed as deliberate neglect of the fish seed distribution scheme.

In a tweet, KTR accused the government of failing to continue a key initiative the previous BRS government launched to support fishermen, which had significantly improved their livelihoods.

The BRS leader remarked that the Congress administration had not yet initiated the fish seed distribution process, with tenders still pending. He questioned whether the scheme would even be implemented, raising concerns over the future of the fishermen community, which heavily relies on fishing for survival.

KTR further stated that the scheme, introduced by the previous BRS government, had revitalised the fishing industry, particularly benefiting inland fisheries in Telangana. He accused the Congress of undermining this progress out of political malice and questioned the fairness of jeopardising the livelihoods of marginalised fishing communities.
