MANAKONDUR: BRS Working President K. Tarakarama Rao declared that if the party won 10-11 Lok Sabha seats in the upcoming elections, BRS chief K. Chandrashekhar Rao would become the Chief Minister of Telangana again within a year.

Speaking at a BRS cadre meeting in Manakondur on Sunday in support of Karimnagar Lok Sabha candidate Boinpally Vinod Kumar, KTR stressed the importance of a BRS victory in the Lok Sabha elections for several reasons. Addressing scepticism regarding voting for BRS when the BJP controlled the Centre and Congress governed Telangana, he noted that the presence of BRS MPs in Parliament was crucial to protecting the interests of Telangana.

KTR mentioned the upcoming 10th anniversary of Telangana's formation on June 2, expressing concern that the Centre might convert Hyderabad into a Union Territory. He emphasised that having BRS MPs in Parliament was essential to prevent this. He also raised concerns about the BJP government's proposal to link the Godavari River with the Kaveri River, potentially diverting water from Telangana to North India. He said BRS MPs would oppose such plans in Parliament, as national parties like BJP and Congress might not safeguard Telangana's interests.

He highlighted the upcoming delimitation of Lok Sabha and Assembly constituencies scheduled for 2026. He noted that population growth rates in southern states like Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala were relatively stable, while North India experienced significant growth. This could lead to a reduction in Lok Sabha seats in Telangana. KTR argued that a strong BRS representation in Parliament was necessary to ensure a fair distribution of seats.

KTR said that the BJP aimed to win more than 400 Lok Sabha seats to secure a two-thirds majority, which would allow them to amend the Constitution and potentially remove reservations for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes. He urged voters to defeat the BJP in the upcoming elections to prevent this outcome.

He praised Boinpally Vinod Kumar as a capable leader who would serve the public effectively while accusing Karimnagar's BJP MP Bandi Sanjay of doing nothing for the constituency over the past five years. He noted that Sanjay failed to bring schools, colleges, hospitals, or roads to the area. KTR challenged Sanjay to an open debate with Vinod Kumar about their achievements as MPs.

KTR accused the BJP of being filled with sycophants who engaged in excessive and nonsensical praise of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He cited several examples to support his point. According to KTR, Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis sought votes by claiming that Modi saved lives during the COVID-19 pandemic. Telangana BJP President Kishan Reddy went as far as to say that Modi discovered the COVID-19 vaccine, while Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay referred to Modi as a god. KTR argued that such over-the-top praise was absurd, given that Modi failed to deliver on several key promises, such as depositing Rs 15 lakh in everyone's bank account, creating two crore jobs each year, doubling farmers' incomes by 2022, and providing a house for every citizen.

He also accused the Congress party of fielding a dummy candidate in Karimnagar to assist Bandi Sanjay's victory. He urged voters to reject the BJP and the Congress dummy candidate, alleging they were not fulfilling their promises. He emphasised that a strong BRS presence in the Lok Sabha was essential to challenge these parties and prevent them from undermining Telangana's interests.

KTR urged the BRS cadre to work together, setting aside personal egos, to ensure the victory of Boinpally Vinod Kumar with a resounding majority. He reiterated that if BRS won 10-11 Lok Sabha seats, KCR would be able to become the Chief Minister again within one year.
