HYDERABAD: Tollywood actor Akkineni Nagarjuna is set to appear in the Nampally Court on Tuesday in connection with the defamation case he filed against Telangana Minister Konda Surekha.

The case stems from allegedly derogatory remarks made by the minister about Nagarjuna's family, including actress Samantha, which have caused a stir in the film industry.

Nagarjuna has claimed that the comments made by Konda Surekha were damaging to the reputation and dignity of his family. As a result, he filed a petition in the Nampally Court, requesting that criminal action be taken against the minister. The initial hearing, scheduled for last Friday, was deferred to Monday due to the judge being on leave.

On Monday, the hearing faced another postponement since Nagarjuna was unable to attend. The court then rescheduled the hearing for Tuesday, with Nagarjuna expected to provide his statement. According to sources, Nagarjuna's legal team has also requested that witness statements be recorded on the same day, alongside Nagarjuna's testimony. The court has indicated its readiness to proceed with these requests, with the hearing now set for Tuesday.

In addition to Nagarjuna, other members of the Akkineni family are likely to be present.
