The arrest occurred in Chintakani, where BRS Mandal President Pentala Pullayya was taken into custody. According to reports, police did not specify the charges or the reason for the arrest. This led to protests by Pullayya's family and local residents, who confronted the police, demanding an explanation. The situation escalated into a physical altercation between the locals and the police.
Former Zilla Parishad Chairman and BRS constituency in-charge, Lingala Kamal Raju, arrived at the scene upon hearing of the incident. Raju questioned the police, accusing them of harassing BRS leaders. He protested in front of the police station, expressing frustration with the actions taken, saying, "How many more stations will you drag us to, intimidating us like this?" In a dramatic turn, Raju sat in protest outside the station, demanding justice.
