HYDERABAD: Income Tax raids, 15 companies of CRPF, and a Rs. 18,000 crore contract were unable to prevent TRS victory in the Munugode by-election, said TRS working president K T Rama Rao on Sunday.

KTR thanked the Munugode voters for supporting TRS candidate Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy and helping TRS win the Munugode by-poll, while speaking to the media here after his party won the by-election on Sunday.

While rejoicing the TRS victory in the high-voltage Munugode contest, KTR stated that his party's victory symbolised the significant defeat of the arrogance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amita Shah. "Hats off to the Munugode people for delivering a knockout punch to the arrogance of Amit Shah and Narendra Modi," he remarked.

KTR expressed great joy at the party winning all 12 of the combined Nalgonda's Assembly seats. "I would like to bow my head and thank the people of Huzur Nagar and Nagarjuna Sagar and Munugode who gave remarkable victories to the TRS in the by-elections post 2018 general elections," he said.

"Munugode by-election was a battle between development and arrogance and it is clear that development won. In politics, there are no murders, only suicides," he commented in a veiled reference to Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy, who caused the by-election. Minister KTR expressed gratitude to the CPI, CPM leaders and activists who worked hard to ensure the TRS candidate's victory.

He continued, "The BJP attempted to win the election from Delhi with hundreds of crores of money. Etala Rajender's personal assistant was caught with Rs 90 lakhs. A person connected to G Vivek was found with Rs.2.5 crores of hawala money. Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy received Rs 75 crores. Vivek has been designated as a middleman for hawala transfers in every by-election in Telangana state. The Delhi deal brokers (who were recently allegedly exposed in Operation Farmhouse) also claimed to have tampered with EVMs," KTR alleged.
