200 experts to watch surgeries live at BIRRD's orthoplasty summit in Tirupati

TIRUPATI: Over 200 orthopaedic experts from India will be participating in a live surgery drive at the Balaji Institute of Surgery, Research and Rehabilitation for the Disabled (BIRRD) Hospital in Tirupati from Friday. The mega doctors' summit has been titled 'Operative Orthoplasty' and will be held from June 30 to July 2, 2023.
According to Dr Reddappa Reddy, the Officer on Special Duty of BIRRD, "Over 200 renowned orthopaedic surgeons from all over India will be participating in the summit. The three-day summit is aimed at highlighting the state of technology and medical equipment available at BIRRD. Top 20 ortho experts will conduct live surgeries during the summit."
Dr Reddy revealed that the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), which manages BIRRD, had set up state-of-the-art facilities such as CT scans, x-ray machines, blood banks and online treatment based on SMS at the hospital. He claimed that these facilities were on a par with those provided at corporate hospitals yet would provide affordable and easily accessible healthcare services to patients.
"Nearly 200 ortho specialists will watch the surgeries live from Fortune Grand Ridge Hotel. TTD Executive Officer AV Dharma Reddy will inaugurate the summit," Dr Reddy informed.
