3-month-old infant, treated by nurses, dies in Bapatla hospital

BAPATLA: A three-month-old infant died allegedly due to negligence in treatment at a private hospital in Repalle town of Bapatla district on Tuesday.

According to information available, Mounika from Battiprolu admitted her three-month-old baby boy to the hospital on Saturday night. As the doctor did not examine him, he was kept under the supervision of the staff.

The family members were told that the boy's health was stable at around 3 pm on Monday but pronounced him dead around 5 pm. Shocked by the news, Mounika, the mother, fell unconscious.

The family members expressed anger over the negligence of the doctors and protested in front of the hospital. They alleged that the infant died as he was treated only by the nurses while the doctors ignored their noble responsibility.
