Ambati Rayudu to play ILT20 cricket for Mumbai Indians in Dubai, hence no politics for now

HYDERABAD: Former Cricketer Ambati Rayudu on Sunday confirmed his participation with the Mumbai Indians in the upcoming International League T20 (ILT20) tournament, commencing on January 20, 2024, in Dubai.

He highlighted the necessity of upholding political neutrality while actively involved in the realm of professional sports. This announcement comes a day after former cricketer Ambati Rayudu resigned from the YSRCP.

His exit from the YSRCP within nine days triggered numerous questions, leaving many curious about the circumstances surrounding his swift exit.

However, Ambati Rayudu's announcement brought much-needed clarity to the speculation surrounding his departure from the YSRCP, putting an end to numerous rumors.

Ambati Rayudu retired from the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2023 after his team, Chennai Super Kings, won the tournament.

He joined the YSRCP on December 28 in the presence of Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister K Narayana Swamy, and Rajampeta Lok Sabha member P Mithun Reddy.
