ANANTAPUR: Former Anantapur MLA and Telugu Desam Party leader V Prabhakar Chaudhary on Sunday announced that he would get Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan elected from his Assembly constituency of Anantapur Urban if the latter chose it. His assertion came in the wake of a meeting between Pawan Kalyan and TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu in Hyderabad on Sunday.

The TDP leader of the district said that he himself would shoulder the responsibility of getting Pawan Kalyan elected from his constituency as part of their collective objective to ensure that the YSRCP did not return to power in the state.

He also recalled Pawan Kalyan’s earlier statement that the Jana Sena and the TDP had been in alliance and that he had his own strategy to ensure their victory in the 2024 elections.

There were reports earlier that Pawan Kalyan, after being defeated from both Bhimavaram and Gajuwaka in 2019 elections, was eying a safe seat in Anantapur Urban constituency in view of a large number of Balija votes there.

According to the Anantapur TDP leader, Pawan Kalyan and Chandrababu met on Sunday, not just to discuss their plan of action against GO. 1, which stopped them from conducting any public rallies, but also to give a shape to the much-talked-about TDP-Janasena alliance.
