AMARAVATI: The Andhra Pradesh Assembly sessions commenced on Monday morning amidst protest by YSRCP legislators against the deteriorating law and order situation under the TDP-led coalition government.

The YSRCP members, donning black scarves, entered the Assembly and chanted "End Murder Politics... Save Democracy" during the Governor's speech.

Despite their protests, Governor S Abdul Nazeer continued his address, prompting the YSRCP MLAs and MLCs to walk out in dissent. Following the Governor's speech, the session was adjourned until the next day. A Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting, chaired by Speaker Ch Ayyanna Patrudu, is scheduled to decide the duration of the session.

Earlier, YSRCP MLAs and MLCs, led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, arrived at the Assembly with black scarves to protest the severe law and order failure. They attempted to enter with placards while chanting "Save Democracy." However, police stopped them at the gate and tried to confiscate the placards, resulting in some being torn.

Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed his anger towards the police, stating, "Power is not permanent for anyone. Protecting democracy is crucial. The state is under anarchic rule, and the police behavior is extremely atrocious." Eventually, the police allowed the members to enter with their black scarves.
