HYDERABAD: BJP Andhra Pradesh president Daggubati Purandeswari on Saturday condemned the arrest of former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president.
Daggubati Purandeswari condemned Chandrababu Naidu's arrest on the microblogging platform X, tweeting, "It was deplorable to arrest Naidu without serving proper notices and mentioning his name in the FIR. The cops appear to have ignored the protocols, which is unfair."
Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu was arrested in Nandyal in connection with the alleged Rs. 550 crore AP Skill Development scam.
Pawan Kalyan, president of the Jana Sena Party, condemned the arrest of former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and said that it was a political revenge. He also opposed the detention of TDP leaders and activists across the State.
Jana Sena leader Pawan Kalyan said in a video statement that, "The Government is clearly encouraging acts that threaten law and order, and instead of prosecuting the real culprits, it is targeting opposition parties. It is terrible that those who have allegedly committed serious crimes and even served prolonged time in prison have been able to travel freely abroad while the democratic rights of opposition party leaders and citizens have been curtailed."
Pawan Kalyan extended his complete support for TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, saying, "I extend my full support to Mr. Chandrababu Naidu and I hope that he comes out of the situation soon."
Meanwhile, Dr K Narayana, National Secretary of the CPI, condemned the arrest of former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, stating that his arrest was a result of YSRCP anarchy.
The arrest of former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, without any evidence, was a clear example of the YSRCP's tyrannical government, he said.
Narayana criticised the YSRCP for promoting reverse tendering and a vengeful regime, citing democratic values undermining the government. CPI opposed Chandrababu Naidu's arrest as part of opposition suppression.
