AMARAVATI: The Andhra Pradesh Government has identified suitable buildings for accommodation of senior functionaries in the executive capital Visakhapatnam.
Chief Secretary Dr KS Jawahar Reddy on Thursday released orders for allocation of office accommodation available at Millennium Towers A & B for important departments which were not having buildings on their own in Visakhapatnam.
In October, a three-member committee appointed by Jawahar Reddy visited Visakhapatnam to find suitable transit accommodation including a camp office for Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and accommodation for senior functionaries in the port city.
During their visit, the committee found that the own buildings of departments in the first instance could be utilised since 2,27,287 Sq Ft,. was available to house camp offices for senior functionaries like ministers, secretaries, HoDs and their support staff.
The order also said that if the own office accommodation was unavailable, then Millennium Towers – A & B, Rushikonda with 1,75,516 Sq Ft could be made ready with minimal work and could be made available and utilised. For residence of senior functionaries, residential spaces identified in own buildings at Visakhapatnam to be utilised in the first instance.
