Andhra Pradesh High Court asks government to clarify on college fees
Petitioners claimed that the fees was not regulated with transparency by the regulatory committee, and that it was reduced every year which went against the rules and regulations.
AMARAVATI: The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Wednesday heard a petition filed by engineering and medical college managements against the fee regulatory committee appointed by the State.
Advocate Mathukumilli Sriviiay, arguing on behalf of the colleges, claimed that the regulatory committee was violating rules. He claimed that the fees was not regulated with transparency by the regulatory committee, and that it was reduced every year which went against the rules and regulations.
Advocate Sudesh Anand, who represented the government, argued that the committee gave enough time and opportunity to the educational institutions to finalise the fees. The fee notification was put on hold by the court until the case was resolved. The case hasbeen adjourned for hearing until next Tuesday.
