Andhra Pradesh is third, Telangana ninth in attracting domestic tourists

AMARAVATI: Andhra Pradesh has been ranked third in the country while Telangana is ranked ninth for drawing in domestic tourists, according to statistics released by India Tourism Statistics, 2022. As many as 19.27 crore domestic tourists visited Andhra Pradesh in 2022, indicating a 107 per cent increase when compared to 2021, whereas 6.75 crore domestic tourists visited Telangana State in that corresponding year.
Uttar Pradesh was rated top State in the country in attracting domestic tourists, followed by Tamil Nadu in second place, Karnataka in fourth place, and Gujarat in fifth place.
The overall number of domestic tourists in the country in 2022 stood at 173.10 crore, according to data released by the India Tourism Statistics. The data was compiled from the statistics shared by the respective tourism departments of various States.
Tirupati, Gandikota, Visakhapatnam, Araku Valley, Srisailam, East Godavari, Papikondalu, Maredumilli, Vijaywada, Srikalahasti, Kurnool, and Ananthagiri Hills are among the most famous tourist attractions in Andhra Pradesh.
Telangana's most prominent tourist destinations include Hyderabad, Warangal, Adilabad, Nalgonda, Nizamabad, Khammam, Yadadrigutta, Medak, and Karimnagar.
