ELURU: A young man committed suicide on a railway track in Denduluru of Eluru on Monday morning after being depressed over family disputes and the way One Town police station inspector handled the issue.
The deceased, identified as an employee working for Infosys in Hyderabad, was staying along with his wife in Denduluru of Eluru. The couple had a dispute, which led the wife to lodge a complaint with One Town police station.
However family of the victim alleged that the inspector, instead of counseling the couple, asked the husband to settle the matter for Rs. 10 lakh.
The young man, who was deeply distressed, committed suicide on Denduluru railway track in the early hours of Monday morning. Denduluru police registered a case and shifted the body to Eluru government hospital for post-mortem.
Meanwhile, relatives of the deceased raised a concern and demanded higher authorities to take appropriate action against the inspector for alleged homicide.
