AMARAVATI: Andhra Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Mukesh Kumar Meena on Monday released today the final voters' list as the State gears up for the 2024 elections. The electoral roll includes 4,08,07,256 voters distributed across 175 Assembly constituencies.

The data of the final voters list revealed that out of the total voters, 2,07,37,065 are females, 2,00,09,275 are males, and 3,482 identify as transgender persons.

Due to the extensive publicity campaign led by the Election Commission of India (ECI) to include unenrolled voters, a significant 22,38,952 inclusions were recorded during the Special Summary Revision (SSR) in 2024.

In the initial electoral roll released on October 27, 2023, there were 2,88,155 electors in the 18-19 age group. Through the efforts of a dedicated Assistant Electoral Roll Officer (AERO) and special awareness camps in educational institutions, the final electoral roll published on January 22, 2024, shows a significant increase to 8,13,544 electors in the 18-19 age group, indicating a rise of 5,25,389 electors compared to the draft roll.

Efforts to include voters, specifically in the 18-19 age group, in accordance with population statistics, will continue through a campaign approach for continuous updation. Concurrently, a thorough examination of the voters' list, prompted by certain complaints, Birth & Death Register scrutiny, and a House-to-House survey, resulted in the deletion of 16,52,422 entries during the SSR 2024 period.

In adherence to the upper limit of 1,500 electors per Polling Station (PS), the District Electoral Officers (DEOs) undertook a rationalization process before the publication of draft electoral rolls. The result was a net increase of 214 Polling Stations in the draft roll of Special Summary Revision (SSR) 2024 compared to the number of polling stations in SSR 2023. Consequently, the total number of polling stations rose from 45,951 to 46,165.

The draft electoral rolls, aligned with the rationalized polling stations, were published on October 27, 2023, and claims & objections were received until December 9, 2023. The final electoral rolls were officially published on January 22, 2024 after the resolve of the claims and objections.

The draft electoral roll published under SSR, 2024, had a total of 4,01,53,292 general electors. This indicates a net increase of 5,86,530 electors, constituting a 1.46 percent rise compared to the initial draft.
