AMARAVATI: The Andhra Pradesh Government on Friday terminated the appointment of Rajaputra Rajini as a director of Bondili Welfare Corporation following her recent arrest by the Bengaluru police in a fake currency circulation case. A Government Order notifying the same was issued on Friday.

“Bondili Welfare and Development Corporation has brought to the notice of the Government about the arrest of Rajaputra Rajini by the Subramanyapura police station of Bengaluru and therefore as per rules and regulations of the AP Bondili Corporation, the Government hereby decided to disqualify and terminate the appointment of Rajaputra Rajini from the position with immediate effect,” said the order.

The YSRCP leader was appointed as one of the directors initially for a period of two years and her tenure was extended on December 16, 2022.

Rajini and two others were arrested by the Bengaluru police on Wednesday in a fake currency circulation case. The YSRCP leader was caught for allegedly circulating fake Rs 500 notes in Bengaluru.

According to reports, the accused would bring fake notes from Anantapur, at a lower price and circulate them in Bengaluru. She was also accused in the past of extracting huge amounts from unemployed youths by promising them employment.
