CHENNAI: Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy on Saturday met former India captain and cricket legend Mahendra Singh Dhoni in Chennai. The courtesy meeting took place during an event organised here to mark the 75 years of India Cements Limited.
The Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister, who attended the event as one of the guests, lavished praise on MS Dhoni stating that his on-field acumen to take timely decisions was unique and unparalleled in the cricketing world.
The Minister felicitated the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain with a shawl and presented him with the sacred laddus of Tirumala temple. Rajendranath Reddy also had a courtesy meeting with India Cements Limited owner and Managing Director N Srinivasan besides the company vice-president on this occasion.
He also interacted with Union Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Minister L Murugan after felicitating the latter with a bouquet of flowers.
The India Cements Limited owns the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise CSK, led by MS Dhoni. Arguably India's best captain, the Jharkhand star has already retired from all forms of International cricket. Early this year, he even announced relinquishing CSK's captaincy ahead of the 2022 season.
But he had to return to take the saddle once again midway through the season after his successor as captain Ravindra Jadeja gave up the coveted position in April this year following a string of poor performances by the CSK. As per recent reports, MSD will continue to lead the team in 2023 even as he is expected to retire as a player and continue his association with the franchise as a mentor.
