Lakshminarayana, who was previously the Director of the Skill Development Corporation during the TDP rule, appeared before the ED
HYDERABAD: The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) on Monday began questioning Lakshminarayana, a close aide of former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, in connection with the Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) fraud case.
The ED has in the past issued notices to several people, suspected to be involved in the scandal which happened during Chandrababu Naidu's regime between 2014-2019. Reportedly, there was a Rs 3,300 crore contract between SIEMENS Software India Private Ltd and AP State Skill Development Corporation, out of which Rs 370 crore was designed to be the state government's share.
According to a forensic audit, Rs 241 crore of the State Government share was allegedly diverted and siphoned off. It was suspected that the fraud was done using fake GST invoices.
Lakshminarayana, who was previously the Director of the Skill Development Corporation during the TDP rule, appeared before the ED for questioning in the case. However, many others who were issued notices were yet to appear before the ED. The agency has issued notices to 26 people, including the representatives of SIEMENS.
