VIJAYAWADA: After deliberating on their alliance nitty-gritties for a few days, the TDP, the BJP and the JSP finally arrived at a consensus late on Monday.

TDP president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced his party’s seat-sharing deal with the BJP for the Lok Sabha as well as the Assembly elections in the State.

Naidu mentioned that the TDP would contest on 17 seats out of a total of 25 Lok Sabha seats in the State, while the BJP would contest six seats. Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena Party would contest two seats in the polls.

For the Assembly elections, TDP would contest 144 seats, while the BJP and the JSP would fight 10 and 21 seats in the State, respectively.

Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, BJP national vice-president Baijayant Panda, and JSP president Pawan Kalyan had met Naidu at his Undavalli residence on Monday to finalise the seat-sharing arrangements. TDP State president Kinjarapu Atchannaidu, TDP MLAs A Satya Prasad and Gottipati Ravi Kumar, and JSP political affairs committee chairman Nadendla Manohar were also present during the meeting.
