ANAKAPALLE: The Dhanbad-Alleppey Bokaro Express train was halted for two hours on Sunday in Anakapalle district due to passenger disputes over reserved seats.

About 500 people from West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand who were on their way to Vijayawada for work boarded the train without reserved tickets, according to reports.

According to reports, it all started at 9:30 a.m. in Anakapalle when Ayyapa devotees boarded the train and asked those who were already seated in their reserved seats to leave. However, a fight erupted between them when unreserved passengers claimed they had paid the Ticket Collector (TC) and would not vacate their seats.

The officials stopped the train at Regulapalem station in Anakapalle after learning about the issue. They even asked those who were travelling without reservations to vacate, resulting in a massive protest by unreserved passengers.

Officers from the Tuni Railway Police rushed to the scene, spoke with the passengers, and managed to move 400 people to other available bogies. 100 additional passengers then boarded the Ratnachal Express for Vijayawada.
