Chandrababu Naidu Arrest: TDP launches one-day hunger strike ‘Satyameva Jayate’

AMARAVATI: Condemning the alleged illegal arrest of former Chief Minister and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu, TDP leaders across Andhra Pradesh participated in a one-day hunger strike in the name of ‘Satyameva Jayate’ on Monday.

TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh participated in the protest at 10, Lodhi Estate, in New Delhi, while Naidu’s wife Nara Bhuvaneswari sat in the protest at the quarry centre in Rajamahendravaram. Initially, the TDP leaders paid floral tributes to the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary before participating in the protest.

Taking to X (previously Twitter), Bhuvaneswari said, “Today, my heart is filled with memories of my father, the great NTR garu, who devoted his life to the Telugu community. He taught us to always stick to the truth, no matter how tough it gets. His strong support for justice and his dedication to serving the Telugu people continue to inspire all of us, his children.”

At NTR Bhavan in Mangalagiri, TDP AP unit president K Atchhanaidu along with party senior leaders sat in the protest. In Hyderabad, TDP Telangana unit president Kasani Gnaneswar, former Chief Minister Nandamuri Taraka Rao’s (NTR) daughter G Lokeswari, Hindupur MLA Nandamuri Bala Krishna’s wife Vasundhara participated in the protest at NTR Trust Bhavan. The TDP leaders would continue their protest till 5 pm.

At NTR Ghat, Nandamuri Harikrishna’s daughter Suhasini, along with former Union Minister Panbaka Lakshmi sat in the protest. They raised slogans and demanded withdrawal of false cases against Naidu.
