Chandrababu Naidu expresses solidarity with Anganwadi workers, to include issues in TDP manifesto
He reminded them that the then TDP Government increased their pay twice and the onus of accepting the genuine demands of the Anganwadi workers would be on the State Government.
KUPPAM: Former Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party president Nara Chandrababu Naidu visited the Anganwadi workers who were protesting in Kuppam town as part of the statewide agitation seeking better pay, pension and retirement benefits.
Expressing solidarity with the Anganwadi workers, Chandrababu Naidu said that TDP supported their agitation as their demands were genuine. “You have been protesting against the injustice meted out to you during the past 20 days. Unfortunately, the YCP Government is refusing to accept your demands,” he noted.
He reminded them that the then TDP Government increased their pay twice and the onus of accepting the genuine demands of the Anganwadi workers would be on the State Government. He assured them that the TDP after coming to power in the State would implement all the demands by first including them in the party manifesto.
“This Government could not harm you as long as you are united in your fight. I will reinstate you even if this Government terminates your jobs. These show-cause notices are temporary, you are all working in my constituency, and nothing is permanent in democracy,” Chandrababu Naidu pointed out.
He told the Anganwadi workers that Governments might come and go but he never threatened any striking workers during his 14-year-long tenure as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and erstwhile State. He advised the State Government to agree to the demands of the Anganwadi workers
