CI, SI of Totlavallur arrested for tampering with evidence in murder case

AMARAVATI: Pamidimukkala CI Medikonda Mukteswara Rao and Totlavalluru SI Yadagiri Arjun of Krishna district were arrested for allegedly accepting a huge bribe to tamper with evidence in a murder case, where Gadikoyya Srinivasa Reddy, a software employee, was murdered at Allavaripalem of Totlavallur mandal over an extra-marital affair. Andhra Pradesh DGP Rajendranath Reddy said that they also took the help of the CLUES team and Dog Squad.
The police found that Alla Srikanth Reddy and his family members were involved in the case and planned to murder Srinivasa Reddy taking into consideration that his family's honor would be lost if the extra martial affair issue come to light. Srikanth Reddy contacted Jonnala Narendra Reddy and made a deal of Rs 1.5 crore for the murder.
Later, Medikonda Mukteswara Rao and Yadagiri Arjun were contacted and were offered Rs. 12.50 lakhs and Rs. 1.60 lakhs respectively to tamper with the evidence. With this, the CI tried to prevent Alla Srikanth Reddy and his family members from being accused in the Srinivasa Reddy murder case. Meanwhile, Puchakayala Srinivasa Reddy, the YSRCP leader of Bhadrirajupalem, Thotlavallur mandal, who came to know about this deal, told the Alla family that he would have made a deal for a lesser amount.
It was found that Srinivasa Reddy was also allegedly killed by Narendra Reddy over a dispute after his family members lodged a missing complaint. During the investigation, it was found that the CI and SI were brined in the murder case. The police arrested Narendra Reddy on September 27.
