Couple ends life in Visakhapatnam after failing to provide jobs to youth
The couple promised youth for providing training and job opportunities in different organisations and the unemployed youth from Narsipatnam and Srikakulam areas
VISAKHAPATNAM: A couple committed suicide by hanging themselves at Shiva Shakti Colony in Kommadi of Visakhapatnam. According to details, the couple, MVK Prasad (54) and Rajarajeshwari (50), were working as representatives in a company located at Kaviti Centre in Srikakulam as part of the Smart Village Development Programme.
The couple promised youth for providing training and job opportunities in different organisations and the unemployed youth from Narsipatnam and Srikakulam areas believed the couple and deposited amounts ranging from Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000 each with the organisation in hopes of securing jobs.
However, as time passed, the company failed to provide them with jobs nor did they return their deposits. The youth then complained to the police. This led to pressure on the couple, and it appeared that they resorted to such extreme step as their reputation was tarnished. The police have registered a case and are currently investigating the matter. PM Palam CI Y Ramakrishna has reached the scene and is collecting further details.
