AMARAVATI: Indian Cricketer KS Bharath met Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at his camp office here on Thursday.

The Chief Minister lauded Bharath for representing the Indian cricket team. On the occasion, Bharath presented a jersey with autographs of the team members to the Chief Minister.

Speaking on the occasion, Bharath said that it was a proud moment for him to be the first to represent the Indian cricket team from Andhra Pradesh and play as a wicket keeper for test matches after Jagan Mohan Reddy became the Chief Minister for the state.

The Chief Minister also felt happy and sought his support for him as a cricketer. He also suggested that the country should be proud and the reputation of the state should be upheld in cricket. Infrastructure was improving well in AP and sports promotion was also progressing at a brisk pace.

As a cricketer, the encouragement given by the AP government to the sportspersons was very commendable. In future, due to this kind of encouragement, budding players like him would come to light, the cricketer said. Bharath's parents Manga Devi and Srinivasa Rao, coach Krishna Rao and MP PV Mithun Reddy were also present.
