RAJAMAHENDRAVARAM: Kapu idealogue Mudragada Padmanabham, in a strongly worded letter to Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, asked the actor-turned-politician to stop talking like a loose cannon and win an election for a start.

Taking exception to the Power Star’s recent tirade accusing the Kakinada city legislator Dwarampudi Chandrasekhara Reddy of rampant corruption and lawlessness, Padmanabham dared Pawan Kalyan to contest against the MLA and defeat him.

He found fault with Pawan Kalyan for branding the Dwarampudi family as corrupt and said that the legislator’s father Bhaskar Reddy and grandfather Krishna Reddy were very generous and had provided material help for the Kapu movement in the state. He said that the Dwarampudi family had encouraged him to take up the ministerial post offered by NT Rama Rao in 1984.

“You have been accusing the MLA but have you ever given a thought to why people have elected him twice? Who is stopping you from contesting against these so-called plunderers and defeating them? You can as well stop them from entering the Assembly,” he said.

The Kapu movement leader also wanted to know how Pawan Kalyan would be able to become chief minister of Andhra Pradesh if he allied with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). “How can you ask people to vote for you and make you chief minister when you are not contesting for all the 175 seats?” he questioned.

Mudragada Padmanabham advised Pawan Kalyan not to waste his energies talking cheaply like a street rowdy. “You have enough issues to pick up cudgels, like the Visakha steel, special status, railway zone, Kadapa steel plant and so on. Why pick a fight with an orphan like me?” Mudragada wondered.

Objecting to the language used by the Jana Sena chief in recent public meetings, Mudragada Padmanabham wanted to know from whom he was seeking political advice. He said that the language used by Pawan Kalyan was not commensurate with his stature as head of a political outfit.

“You have been saying in recent speeches that you will get the opponents tonsured, get them skinned, put them on the mat, and so on. Can you tell me how many were tonsured, skinned, and made to kneel,” the Kapu leaders asked.

The senior leader had a word of advice to Pawan Kalyan asking him to jot down pertinent issues that matter to the people and talk about them in public meetings, rather than abusing opponents.
