Family of woman who questioned YSRCP men attacked in Vijayawada

VIJAYAWADA: A woman and her family were attacked by unidentified goons on Tuesday morning in division 17 of Tarakarama Nagar in Vijayawada. The attack took place a day after the woman spoke against the ruling YSR Congress Party leaders.

Reportedly, when the YSRCP's Gadapa Gadapaku Mana Prabhuthvam programme was held in their division on Monday, the woman questioned the leaders over the lack of development in their area.

Within 24 hours unknown assailants attacked the woman's house at around 8 am on Tuesday. The attackers ransacked their house and threw their household items outside. The family was attacked with pepper spray, which led to a scuffle between the two groups. Many people were injured in the incident. However, the family managed to escape.

They alleged that Corporator Ramireddy, YCP leaders Damodar, Chinnari and Madhavi were behind the attack.
