AMARAVATI: Four IAS officers, including Amrapali, officially reported to the Andhra Pradesh Secretariat on Thursday following an order by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). The officers met with Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary Neerab Kumar Prasad and submitted their joining reports. The Andhra Pradesh government is expected to assign them postings shortly.

This development comes after the Telangana High Court on Wednesday dismissed petitions filed by IAS officers Vani Prasad, Vakati Karuna, Ronald Rose, Amrapali, Srujana, Shivashankar, and Harikiran. The officers had requested the court to stop their transfer orders and prevent their release from Telangana. However, the court upheld the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) decision, stating that the officers must report to their assigned positions per the DoPT's directives.

The High Court ruled that it would not interfere in the administrative matter of cadre allocation, reiterating that such decisions fall under the purview of the central government, which had already been determined after reviewing the relevant cases. The officers had argued that their transfer to Andhra Pradesh was improper. However, the court maintained that any objections should be raised before the CAT, where related petitions are still pending.

As a result, these IAS officers now have no choice but to join the Andhra Pradesh cadre. Telangana had already relieved them of their duties. In a separate development, the state government issued orders on Wednesday appointing Transport Commissioner Ilambarithi as the full-time GHMC Commissioner in place of Amrapali.
