AMARAVATI: “It is the blessings of the Gods above, water from various rivers and soil from all the holy places across the country that saved Amaravati, the state capital from the hands of Jagan Mohan Reddy,” said Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu.

The Chief Minister visited different structures left unattended for five years by the YS Jagan’s Government on Thursday and addressed media near the CRDA camp office in Rayapudi.

The Chief Minister said that the Government would soon release a white paper on the status of the State Capital, the damage done to the structures under different stages of construction.

“I seek suggestions from the people on the way forward. The damage is evident. The coffers are empty and there Polavaram to be completed. The Government will prepare an action for Amaravati, based on the need for the buildings,” he observed.

He said that all the structures that could accommodate the important staff of the State Government would be completed first. “The Amaravati is a self-financing project. There is no need for the Government to spend money. But the Jagan Government willfully created havoc in the capital area. It encouraged unlawful activity, pilferage and rowdyism,” he pointed out.

Warning the anti-social elements of stern action, he said he would not tolerate theft of construction material from the capital region.

“Isn't it the God’s script that the farmers of Amaravati fought for 1,631 days and numerologically it matches the 11 seats that the YCP got? But why would people vote for Jagan’s party in those 11 seats? There must be a debate on it,” he said.

Announcing that he might retain the demolished ‘Praja Vedika’ convention hall next to his Undavlli camp office as a monument like the nuclear bomb hit Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan, Naidu said that Amaravati was lucky because Jagan toured the region. “If he visited the place, he would have demolished all the buildings under construction. Fortunately, Amaravati is lucky that he didn’t visit,” Naidu pointed out.

Explaining the way he tried to decentralise development, Naidu said that he distributed all the 12 central institutions given to State under the bifurcation Act among all the regions, Naidu said that he would develop Visakhapatnam and Kurnool with similar fervour.

Comparing the present scenario with that of the Amaravati plan given by Norman Foster consultancy of the UK, he said that Jagan resorted to vindictive politics. “In Telangana, I have started Hitech city with a vision. The later Governments continued the development process without prejudice in the larger interests of the people. But in AP Jagan stated with the demolition of Praja Vedika and Amaravati.” He observed.
