GUNTUR: In what can be termed as a huge embarrassment for Minister Ambati Rambabu, a Guntur court has ordered that a case be registered against the Minister in connection with the Sankranti lucky draw controversy.
Jana Sena leaders have lodged a police complaint against some YSRCP leaders, accusing them of selling tickets in Sattenapalli under the guise of the Sankranti lucky draw at the behest of Ambati Rambabu.
As the police did not register a case for the same, Janasena leader Gade Venkateswara Rao filed a petition in the Guntur court. The court, after conducting an inquiry into the matter, directed the police to register a case against the Minister.
Earlier, the Minister was mired in a controversy for allegedly demanding a bribe from a family in his constituency.
