Harassed by loan-app mafia, man dies by suicide in Krishna district

GANNAVARAM: Unable to withstand the harassment from an app-based loan provider, a young man in Hanuman Junction of Gannavaram died by suicide. The young man died while undergoing treatment at Pinnamaneni hospital on Friday.

The man, identified as Rohit from Veleru village, has obtained a loan through a money-lending app. He was later harassed by the representatives of the loan app to repay the money. Reportedly, he was also pressurized by the betting mafia to repay the loan.

Rohit, who could not bear the harassment, resorted to the extreme step. He was later admitted to a hospital where he died while undergoing treatment. Incidentally, there were several cases of suicide reported in the last few months due to harassment by online loan providers in Andhra Pradesh.
