HYDERABAD: Private weather agency Skymet has predicted more heavy rains for Andhra Pradesh, following recent floods that impacted the state. According to Skymet, two low-pressure systems are forming over the Bay of Bengal, which could lead to further significant rainfall in various parts of the state. A potential cyclone may develop near the Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu coasts on October 7 or 8, impacting local weather conditions.

The weather agency also indicated that low-level winds are currently blowing west-northwest over Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, which may bring heavy rains to parts of the Rayalaseema region. Thunderstorms and lightning are expected in different parts of Andhra Pradesh and Yanam under the influence of this low-pressure system.

Skymet further warned that the upcoming cyclone may have widespread effects, impacting Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha, Karnataka, and Maharashtra. Additionally, another low-pressure system has developed over the southern Bay of Bengal and its surrounding areas. This system is expected to cause extensive thunderstorms and rainfall across Northeast India, including regions like West Bengal, Bihar, and Jharkhand, between October 5 and 7.

The repeated predictions of adverse weather come as a concern for Andhra Pradesh, which has been grappling with the aftermath of recent heavy rains and flooding. Authorities have urged residents to remain alert and take necessary precautions to avoid further damage.
