GUNTUR: YSR Congress Party president and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has called upon the people of Andhra Pradesh to critically evaluate the direction in which the state is heading under the leadership of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. He urged the public to consider whether the state is progressing or regressing.

Speaking to the media at his office in Tadepalli, Jagan highlighted the ongoing lawlessness, false white papers released by Chandrababu, and the misleading propaganda against the YSRCP administration.

"Over the past 52 days, there have been continuous attacks, rapes, and property destruction in the state. The administration is moving forward with a tendency to suppress those who question it. While this destructive governance continues, the police are merely spectators. The Chandrababu government is presenting a seven-month vote-on-account budget. The inability to present a full budget indicates the severity and incompetence of the administration. If a full budget is presented, Chandrababu Naidu would have to allocate funds for the deceptive promises he made, which is why he is avoiding it," Jagan stated.

"Chandrababu is synonymous with betrayal and Goebbels' propaganda. From backstabbing NTR to deceiving the public, this has been the norm. Now, his gang is spreading the narrative that the state is in a critical condition. They claim the state is financially ruined, which is why they are not presenting a full budget," he said.

During the elections, they claimed there were debts of Rs 14 lakh crore and made 'Super Six' promises. Now, after coming to power, they are struggling to show this. By the time of the Governor's speech, they showed a debt of Rs 10 lakh crore. They are trying to mislead with white papers. According to RBI, CAG, and the State Budget, as of June this year, the debt was only Rs 5.18 lakh crore.

When Chandrababu stepped down in 2019, the debt was Rs 2.72 lakh crore. Under the YSRCP regime, it reached Rs 5.18 lakh crore. It is only Rs 7.48 lakh crore, including guarantees and power agreements. Yet, they falsely claimed Rs 14 lakh crore in the Governor's speech. Is it ethical to make such false claims? We will write to the Governor about these falsehoods and bring this to his attention.

When Chandrababu took office, there was over Rs 7,000 crore in the treasury. But when we took office, there was only Rs 100 crore. During our tenure, we implemented every promise in our manifesto. Through DBT, we transferred Rs 2.71 lakh crore to beneficiaries. We provided welfare to everyone, regardless of party or region. Under Chandrababu's rule, the debt reached 21.63%, while under YSRCP, it was 12.9%. The Central Economic Survey praised our government's performance. Yet, they portray the state's financial situation as dire. They avoid presenting a full budget to hide these facts. Is it ethical to claim a non-existent debt of Rs 14 lakh crore?

"During Chandrababu's tenure, the debt reached 21.63%, while under YSRCP, it was 12.9%. We borrowed less than the permissions granted by the Centre. Even during COVID-19, we presented a full budget. Despite reduced tax shares from the Centre, we did not stop welfare. So, who has financially ruined the state? The Central Economic Survey praised our government's performance. Chandrababu's government avoids presenting a full budget to hide these facts," Jagan said.
